Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics

The Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) is an autonomous organization funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. CDFD also receives funding from other agencies on specific collaborative projects. In addition, DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics services provided by the Centre support some of its activities.

Director’s Message

Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) is one of the premier research organizations in the country, an autonomous research centre of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC) and an integral part of the larger ecosystem at Hyderabad. At CDFD, we are committed to advancing cutting-edge research in diverse fields of biology and spanning across scales to address critical challenges in health, agriculture, and forensics. Our mission is to foster innovation, excellence, and collaboration, empowering scientists to push the boundaries of knowledge and translate discoveries into real-world solutions. I am proud of our vibrant community of researchers, students, and staff who work tirelessly to drive scientific progress. Together, we strive to create a transformative impact on society through interdisciplinary research, state-of-the-art facilities, and a commitment to ethical and equitable science.
